Speech Title:

Smart Manufacturing: Smart Materials and 4D Printing

Abstract:

Smart structure has the characteristics of active deformation, variable stiffness, large-size
molding, etc., and has shown great application potential and practical value in aerospace, biomedicine and other fields. The smart deformable structure combines smart materials with 4Dprinting technology to achieve multi-modal active response capability under external excitation. This report will focus on typical smart materials and introduce their new ideas and newachievements. Based on mechanical theory and material research, a variety of shape memorypolymers were invented; a variety of active deformation structures were invented and successfullyapplied in the Tianwen 1 Mars probe. A variety of deformable intelligent structures such asintelligent actuators, and zero Poisson ratio/negative Poisson ratio cellular structures have beendeveloped.
