Speech Title:

Reliable Micro-Welding of Glass by Picosecond Pulsed Laser with High Pulse RepetitionRate

Abstract:

A picosecond pulsed laser with a high repetition rate has a possibility to perform micro-welding of glass. However, when the pulse energy increases in order to achieve a high processing speed, the excessiveenergy input accompanies a risk of crack generation. Thus, micro-welding of glass using multi-spotfocusing generated by a spatial light modulator was experimentally investigated. It was suggested thatmulti-spot focusing has a possibility to avoid the generation of crack, although a large pulse energy isused to create a wide width of weld bead.
